A chronic lack of social housing has driven the UK into a housing emergency.

Before the 2025 Spending Review, Shelter wanted to send a positive message to the government to build more social housing.

Our thinking was simple. Social housing provides people with a foundation to build a better life. Some of those people are now celebrities. What if we get one of them to return to their childhood home to put on a one-of-a-kind concert.
